I think you will find (if you are patient) that the forthcoming VLab
Motion Zorro III edition will provide equal if not superior "bang for
your buck".
Here is a quote from a recent NoahJi's letter on the subject:
(note this refers to the Draco system version of the VLab Motion, which
may not be entirely like the Zorro III version to be released later)
"For the first time in the digital video realm, there are no limits to
the quality of your video. With over 30 MB/second throughput available,
uncompressed video work is possible. Currently, hard drive technology is
not yet able to store these data rates, but may be available soner than
expected."
If you really want to get fancy, the new Draco, with an 060, offers
blistering and very cost efficient performance, and is easily upgradeable
to RISC technology.
I, however, am going to satisfy myself (for now) with adding an 060 to my
A4000 and upgrade to the Z3 version of VLab Motion when it comes out.
The ease of non-linear editing, effects and transitions, no need for a
TBC, up to 256 independent tracks of 16 bit sound (!) are an incredible
value, esp. for someone who already owns an Amiga.
